How long does it take to produce a video tour?

This depends entirely on the subject matter to be filmed. A small house could take as little as an hour, a hotel around 3-4 hours and a service business could require filming for an entire day to capture all the action. Please remember to have all the rooms and scenes ready on the day of filming. Once we're back in the office, the video should be ready for viewing within 4-5 days.

What narration options are available?

We can liaise with our suppliers and provide professional narration for your video tour. We will require a list of the basic facts to include in your video and liaise with you to build a suitable script.

How is the video put on my website?

Once the video has been approved, we will provide you or your web designer with some simple code to cut and paste into your webpage where you would like the video to appear. We produce the video tour, but it is up to yourself to incorporate the finished video into your website.

Do I receive a copy of my video?

Of course. We can place your finished video on a DVD and send it for you to keep. This will be in the full quality of the original footage. You are only allowed to use it for marketing purposes - you may not sell the video tour or any part of it.

How do visitors watch the video?

The video tour makes use of Flash technology, currently installed on over 98% of internet-enabled computers. Flash Player 9 will be required to view the video - if the viewer doesn't have it yet, it can be downloaded and installed in a few moments. With a broadband connection the video will play instantly and should run smoothly without any hesitation. Modem users will still be able to see the full quality video, but will have to wait longer for it to download. Once the video has downloaded it is held in the computer's cache and can be watched repeatedly without delays. The video is held in the cache until it is deleted by the viewer to make space.

Who owns the video?

All video footage and the video tours we make with that footage remain the copyright of Direct Video Tours, but your payment includes a licence for you to use the finished video, for marketing uses only, forever. This means you can have more DVDs produced for marketing mail-outs, have the video playing on trade stands, or as part of an agent's display, and of course you can send the video tour link to any website, where their visitors can see it on demand.

What if I need to make changes to my video over time?

Naturally the need may arise for a client to make a change to their video tour - a new beauty spa has been opened at the hotel, an adventure centre is now offering kayaking lessons or the golf clubhouse has been refurbished with a new bar. We value our existing clients and will agree a reasonable price for any alterations to your video tour.
